New Student Registration 2016-2017 Register NOW!
Families of children who will attend Pleasant Hill Elementary in Leander ISD this fall, as well as families with children who qualify for the district’s free pre-kindergarten program, are encouraged to register their children for school ASAP. Parents may register their child at any elementary school in the district, even if they are zoned to attend another LISD campus.
Please bring the following items to registration:
a copy of the student's birth certificate
proof of residency (a recent water bill, utility bill, etc...)
the student's Social Security card
most recent report card and standardized test results
withdrawal papers from your child's previous school
a photo identification of parent/guardian

STAAR Confidential Student Report (CSR) Delays
Communication sent in early June to parents of students in grades 3-8 indicated STAAR Confidential Student Reports would be received via postal mail by June 23, 2016. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) and testing provider, Educational Testing Services (ETS), have since indicated that there would be further delays in the receipt of these reports. Due to this delay, parents may expect to receive their child’s Confidential Student Report during the last week of July.

Exam for Acceleration (EA) Process
According to Texas State Board of Education rules, school districts must offer Examinations for Acceleration (EA) for students, without prior instruction, wishing to accelerate to the next grade level or course. Students must score at 80 percent or higher to qualify to accelerate. Please NOTE: LISD cannot offer Exams for Acceleration (EA) in English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology 1 and U.S. History because neither state-approved testing entity has validated tests for them. This means students may NOT take EAs to accelerate: English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology 1 and U.S. History. Students who qualify will be accelerated into the next grade level or course, beginning the school year 2016-17. The Summer 2016 Exam for Acceleration (EA) Testing Windows are : June 8-9, 2016 AND July 13-14, 2016. Deadline to register is May 20, 2016.
Student Transfer Requests for 2016-17
Leander ISD tries to maintain an open student transfer option for its parents, but the district must close campuses (or specific grades at open campuses) to inbound transfers when campus/grade level enrollment approaches capacity. The district works to be sure that no safety issues arise from overcrowded conditions. Enrollments and transfer requests are monitored daily throughout the year
Transfer requests can be submitted online beginning Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. Please be sure that you submit your transfer request(s) promptly, as the transfer request deadline is March 20, 2016 (with the exception of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten transfer requests, which will be accepted April 15-29). The district will not consider any transfer requests submitted after that date until approximately two weeks prior to the start of school
Please note that some campuses will not be accepting any new transfers due to their being at or over projected capacity. Existing transfer students at all campuses who submit an application will be considered for approval after the deadline date of March 20, 2016.
Please note that a non-refundable $30.00 processing fee was implemented beginning Sept. 1, 2011, for any student requesting a transfer, and this fee does not guarantee approval to the requested campus. Again, the student transfer submission window opens on Feb. 15, 2016.
If you do not have access to a computer, please feel free to stop by the campus and use one of the campus computers. Should you need assistance with the transfer application, schedule a meeting with the registrar at the campus you would like your student to attend, so that they may assist you in completing this application.

If your child's transportation changes throughout the year, you MUST contact the office by 2:00 p.m. by phone (512-570-6400) or a note sent to school with your child. Notes must include your child's first and last name, teacher’s name, how your child will go home, and the date of the change and whether or not the change is permanent. ALL NOTES ARE DELIVERED TO STUDENTS/CLASSROOMS AT 2:00 P.M.

Attendance is Important!
Our front doors open at 7:20 for breakfast and our early morning workout. School starts at 7:45 each morning. Tardy slips are being given to students who arrive at school after announcements. It is so very important that our students are at school on time and in their classrooms ready to learn.
We appreciate your help with getting your students to school so that they can start their jobs as learners and not miss out on any valuable instructional time!
Absences: If your child is absent, please send a written note or doctor’s note within 48 hours. The note should include the student’s name, teacher, date of absence, reason of absence and parent’s signature.
